“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”

This quotation was used on the masthead of my hometown newspaper, The Saginaw (Michigan) News in the 40s and 50s. It used the words “any fellow man” instead of “any other creature”. Gandhi supposedly used the term “any human being”. Most sources attribute Stephen Grellet, an early American of French descent, as the author. Although, as above, some say “Anonymous.”
